For the past sometime,I am concentrating on open source reporting framworks. Even though a lot of Tools are availabe,My choice is BIRT, which BIRT is an open source Eclipse-based reporting system that integrates with your Java/J2EE application to produce compelling reports.
I worked in the reivew group of Actuate IServer release during the fall of 2007. I do freelance consulting for Birt.
